I too was a big fan of Elite but my X Story started for me with XBTF back when it was realsed... much the same story as CBJ... played the Demo and had to buy the game... my social life was obliterated overnight but was somewhat restored online when I joined the first forums hosted by THQ... As much ...

(Edit) OK - I think it is pretty clear I am not that religious but how dumb is this? What is wrong with just saying "No thanks"? I hope there is more to this story or it is a really stupid example of someone worrying about who might take offence.... M Unfortunately the NHS is in a bit of a rock in ...

The punishments are all designed to have specific physiological affects on the punishee. These were programmed into X3:TC so the game could learn how you play and then detect the subtle changes after a sanction had been applied. Next time Goldo plays X3, the upload from the game will tell us if he ...

Point being good science admits fallibility. It is prepared to make predictions and be shot down. It is how it moves forwards. And the predictive bit is key to science. If the prediction fails the theory fails or changes. I've never seen any prediction coming out of religious attempts to explain th...

Out of curiosity; If we believe that science is based on fact, facts which are proven by adhering to laws by which the theories can be tested to prove said facts are indeed correct, then naturally the necessary physical properties of the theories were in existance before someone came along to expla...

I personally dislike the word convert - its an aggressive word Oki - I've never actually viewed it as an aggressive term. If you choose to adopt Christianity you are a convert; if someone gave a particularly great sermon that meant you "saw the light" and chose to convert, then you have been conver...

Yes, so goldo if you don't mind could you change your reply from "quite wrong" to "slightly wrong" please? :p It was only a summary designed for a not neccesarily religious audience. Well unfortunately... you arnt so lucky to have just a "non religious" audience hahaha :D Chealec... yes you could e...

An understandable sentiment but the great commision (a vital underpinning part of the christian faith) has words to the effect of "go out into the world and do your best to convert everyone" SLIGHTLY wrong (Edited to Keep Phillip happy (and in the hope he may chuck me a beer) :) ) 16Then the eleven...

Ok, going off Wikipedia largely I'll admit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharia, scroll down to the section "Topics of Islamic law" The only bits I might find offensive are: Some animal welfare concerns relating to Halal. This bit. . . . . "A woman who wishes to be divorced usually needs the consen...

I hate these threads. Whole subjects been done to death. What annoys me is people coming out bashing other peoples beliefs. No offence... you do not have to read them... The beliefs, whatever people want to believe, are rarely at fault. People are the problem, cruel people who will use anything to ...

Very good post, well put! I feel you are a minority however, lets face it living a moral life (whether you ascribe to a God/gods/religion or not) is rather difficult, I believe that humans are not moral creatures by nature hence it will always be a struggle. Thus I can understand why people might n...

However, what I'm going to say may surprise some of you (especially those who have known me since I first came onto the forums back in the late 90s when it was all on THQ) I would describe myself as an active C...

well here in Gt Yarmouth we've got a big offshore farm of the things. Another small farm in Somerton. I personally have no issue with them... Re: Kebabs

I ate a kebab sober once.. it was a dare of sorts.. it wasnt nice.. I woke up after a heavy night with a cold one on the pillow next me. It was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes and it took about a week to get rid of the smell. See, I usually suffer from the Kebabover if I have one after ...
