if memory serves correct, you can blow up the mine, and it SHOULD respawn, at least I'm pretty sure this was the case for btf...
respawn can take over 24 (game) hours...

Drop all fighter drones to attract it's fire, and destract it so your Hyperion can make it's move...

You can't train in fighting...only hacking engineering and mechanical.

I actually tried this a few days ago but the marines said 'can't penetrate hull'. They were 5 marines averaging 3exp. I assume that if they were at higher ranks, they would fare better...
