Time to gloat a little, X2

Post by Chemical-mix » Sat, 18. Mar 06, 21:14

Well, i know that many of you out there will have far surpassed my current position, but i thought it time to have a little smug gloat of my successes so far.

After just completing the dreaded Ore belt mission i decided to take a break and have a little fun. :D
So I built a couple of wheat farms and SPP to go with my 2 Silicone mines, and went hunting in my souped-up Osprey.
I've made a great impression on my now good friends the Split (thanks for those much-needed 25mw sheilds), and the Paranid quite literally believe the sun shines out of my arse. I've capped so many ships its paying for my kids to go thru college, and ive just blown up my FIRST PIRATE BASE IN PRIESTS PITY!!

Anyway, i now feel like i am the mutz nutz and just thought i would share that with you. Please feel free to use this thread to add your own smug comments of greatness, you all deserve it!

YAY for X2, and YAY me 8)
8) 8) 8) 8)

Oh and i need help: i cant find the registration code for my game anywhere, and it only came with an electronic manual. Its not on any of the discs or on the box. Please help, i want to be officially registered. Suggestions??????????

Now that would be a feat. My now redundant Nova is currently on delivery duty, i need more nrg to get my lovely litle fabs going, but soon it will be my avarous wingman.

I have ships coming out of my ears now, so i might try building a little fleet. But why? I have a great Osprey.

Anyway, back to basking in my own-built self-smugness!!!

Anyone else feel like chanting theie greatness??? It makes me feel like a big man!!!

Hmm get your fab frieghters off the pirates those little pirate ships are ideal.
Nevermind wheat and cells get into space fuel and space weed :pirat:
you wont be blowing up many pirate bases then take your anger out on the Xenon insted
Osprey ahh hmm make good escort ships for my mammoth Gloat Gloat
Oh and a little oddy as well tend to come in handy in Xenon sectors
Keep it up well on your way to your first billion
Little tip seeing you so well in with the Paronid build a few Teladianium factories in there space you will make a fortune Trinity Sanctum is a good place to start

thanks for the teladianium advice, i never thought of that one. And yes, i believe i my just go and have a laugh with the Xenon, i am feeling quite invincible right now. I'm considering getting a little fleet and clearing out an entire Xenon sector... I no longer take prisoners, and im also fond of shooting defenceless astronauts as they plead for their meagre lives while floating in space! Good, honest fun i say.

and just as an extra, do you know where i can find my registration? I didnt get a manual with my game, and i want to be official.

The publishers, erm, forgot, to put registration codes in with versions of the game with electronic manuals. There is still a sticky about it: http://forum2.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=89592

This is an X2 topic, but I'm referring to X3 here btw. :P

I've taken out a group of 4 Falcons in a Pirate Buzzard. 8)

Tactic: Pick on them, run off, go to a station or a large ship. Hide behind it, as soon as they get there, pick on one that is the most alone, 'ignore' the others, stick with that fighter until you kill it. Then repeat. Try keeping the station/ship in between u and the other Falcons. Use your strafe drive a lot otherwise you're toast.

When I see a Khaak cluster of one Khaak Fighter and 5 Khaak Scouts I know I've got something to do for the next 5 minutes. Did it in a Pirate Falcon.

Tactic: Fire any homing missile, a crap one such as a Dragonfly, at the cluster, split it up, keep about 4 k between u and them, wait for the ships to spread out a little, turn around, full throttle, unload your guns at the Fighter while strafing a lot, kill it, target Scouts that are coming toward you as they are easier to kill that way, repeat until there's nothing left. :)

And just yesterday I took out a massive group of 4 Xennon Ms, 3 Xennon Ls and a Xennon J in a Pirate Falcon. I tried to Cap the J with a few reloads, but to no avail.

Tactic: Get their attention so they follow you. Go to about 4k, and take out the Ms with Silkworms. Try taking out the Ls, with bigger missiles, you may need more than one per ship, I only had a Hornet and a Tempest, so I took out one L with those, then I took on the other 2 Ls and the J full on with guns blazing. Don't forget to strafe a lot, I keep a hand on the joystick and the other on the WASD keys to strafe. Waste the Ls first, then you can toy with the J for as long as you want. For me it is best to leave the J till last since my lasers run out quicker than you can say: "Gee! I've ran outa lasers! Again... " But if you want to cap an L (if it's possible, haven't tried in X3 yet), it's best to kill the J first then save and attack the Ls and try and cap them. I wonder if you can cap any Khaak ships in X3. I had a whole fleet of Khaak fighters in X2. :D

I'm playing it on Normal difficulty. It's all to easy for one of the best X-Wing Alliance players in the world.

How's that for gloating?

Pirate Buzzard (standard model) loadout:
6 Beta PACs, 5MJ shield. Full option.

Pirate Falcon (standard model) loadout:
2 Alpha HEPTs, 6 Beta PACs, 2x25MJ Shields. Full option.

I want to get my hands on a pirate Nova Vanguard, or Raider. That would kick ass.

Prodest X2 moment

Post by yeebok » Sun, 19. Mar 06, 01:23

Was when I finally got my Shark. And nearly filled the hangar (115/130 ships).. mostly captured but 11 Perseus' which were wingmen for my personal Persues. It carred 3xAHEPT and 3xBPSG. Nice !

Now that Perseus fleet kicked some arse .. but nothing compared to the Shark and its insane hangar bay !! :)
Setup: Quad Q9550/2.8Ghz, 4Gb low latency RAM, 8800GTX/768, 24"widescreen 5x500Gb SATA2s, Win7.

WOW! no way don't kill the pilots cap them sell for good price at pirate base's for slaves
Anyway here's some tips on how my universe is layed out.
Elena's furtune completly mined out built huge pirate tradeing loop eg:
3 space fuel distilleries & 3 bliss places with all the support stations to go with that hence the factory loop. (My version of Los-Vagas  )
Also recently added 2 squash mine fabs that are doing very well.
If I need a few pirate ships now I don't need to find them there's normally plenty trading with my fabs there, He! He! get the idea
Setup sector patrol with an osprey and 6 nova escorts.
if you fancy a look at my layout just PM me and I'll send u a copy of the game but Elana's furtune is just 1 sector I run
Also don't know if you have some but get some Universal traders running they are the key to the riches believe me
Cool! get into those Xenon

You might not need a fleet to take out some Xenon sectors. I cleaned out Sector 534 yesterday (my first ever :D ) just in my Osprey. 2 BPSG's, 2BHEPT's and 2 GHEPT's. Took out 6 SPP's, 1 station, 2 or 3 J's, 4 or 5 K's and god knows how many of the L's, M's and N's.

I felt so smug afterwards

Or you could do it with a Perseus.

There are reports of people taking down Xenon capships with just a Mandalay.

In X-Tension, I did that with a Pegasus.
